Overview
The BFA program prepares students for full participation in the profession of interior design today and in the future.
Combining a comprehensive interior design curriculum with a strong liberal arts education, our professional-level Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design program offers a rich and memorable college experience. You’ll leave the program fully prepared to start your interior design career. You can study part-time or full-time, onsite or online.
Structure
The emphasis is on creativity, effective verbal and graphic communication skills, technical proficiency, and sustainability. With its focus on the development of critical thinking, the program is structured to produce graduates who are culturally, socially, and historically aware, and who have the knowledge and skills to create safe and pleasing interior environments.
In combination with the required professional experience, the curriculum satisfies the educational requirements for membership in national and local interior design associations and along with work experience, allows graduates to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) exam for interior design certification.

The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design (BFA) granted by the New York School of Interior Design meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam).
