Overview

We are developing an innovative approach to undergraduate History, planned to launch for students joining NU London in September 2025.

While we can’t provide full details today, you can be sure the new programme will be interdisciplinary, experiential, and offer global perspectives and opportunities. What’s more, you will be studying at a university campus which is located at the crossroads of over 1,000 years of history in the heart of a city where heritage intertwines with cutting-edge innovation.

Our approach to History connects historical topics with contemporary concerns, such as the environment, AI and computing, feminism, anti-racism, and decolonisation. While passionate about teaching, our academics  are also highly-active historical researchers. Live research projects seek new perspectives on a wide range of topics. These include the Black Civil Rights Movement in the USA and Mapping Black London in WWII; modern Indian history and its political thought; and Queenship, women and power in the early modern period, to name but a few.

Discover the exciting and dynamic synergy between humanities and sciences. Dive into a multidisciplinary learning environment where history seamlessly blends with fields like business and computer science, as well as more traditional combined paths in English Literature, Philosophy or Politics & International Relations. Broaden your horizons as you collaborate with experts inside and outside of history, engaging in research and study across subject boundaries through our flexible elective courses.

History at NU London will explore the interconnectedness of these disciplines, developing holistic understanding of the world and our place within it, as well as valuable insights and skills that will shape your perspective and enhance your problem-solving abilities.

Learn how history can shape your future.
