Who is it for?
This course is for students who have an interest in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the built environment sector. Students with a passion for sustainability, problem-solving and creativity will find opportunities to harness and develop these skills throughout the degree program.
Structure
What you’ll study
Gain an overview of architectural design, sustainable practices, construction methods, and designing with emerging technologies to tailor a future career in the built environment.
You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between:
- architects
- urban planners
- urban designers
- property developers
- engineers
- construction managers
- other built environment professionals.
You will study core units in:
- design and architecture
- urban planning
- sustainability
- building systems
- construction and property.
You will also study elective units from the disciplinary pool and complete a capstone design studio in your final year.

Admissions
Secondary or tertiary qualification
A secondary education qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate (including national and international equivalents), OR approved higher education study, including approved preparation courses.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
