Extend your knowledge of your undergraduate degree with a stand-alone Honours year in your chosen subject area. Our Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) is available to students who have already completed their studies in this study area.

Cultivate sophisticated critical thinking skills alongside specialist knowledge as you design and complete a supervised thesis.

As an honours student, you will become part of a thriving community of world-class researchers within the University of Sydney Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery as you develop the expertise and practical skills to produce a written thesis of  approximately 15,000 words. An additional year of study, the honours program is available to meritorious students who have completed a Bachelor of Nursing qualification.

Who is the honours program for?

The program is designed for students who have successfully completed a Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing and are looking to enhance their critical thinking skills. It allows students to investigate an idea that can improve the practice of nursing and the lives of patients, and opens the door to future research.

Structure

Applications to our Bachelor of Nursing (Honours) are open to applicants who are considered by the University of Sydney Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery to have the requisite knowledge and aptitude to undertake the course.

Applicants are expected to have completed their Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing (Pre-Registration) from the University of Sydney or from an equivalent university with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 65.
