About this course
Upgrade from a nursing diploma to a degree level qualification by studying our Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration). Our course will enhance your knowledge and skills in nursing by advancing your critical thinking and clinical decision making.
Who is it for?
Our Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) is open to registered nurses who want to extend their clinical practice and progress as a nurse leader in Singapore.
Structure
What you’ll study
First semester
During the first semester, students enrolling in the main intake (July) of our Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) will undertake a unit of study that focuses on issues affecting contemporary nursing, such as technology, globalisation, climate change and the ageing population.
Other units will enable students to develop the skills and knowledge required to undertake a comprehensive nursing assessment. Clinical and patient education and primary health care and community nursing are the key focus of other units of study.
Second semester
In second semester, students will learn about research and evidence-based practice. Other units will enable students to explore, in-depth, legal and ethical issues and to learn about leadership within the context of nursing and health care. Students will also have the opportunity to undertake a project, in an area of their choice that relates to their area of clinical/ professional practice.
Assessment strategies
A range of assessment strategies are used within units of study and may include online quizzes, written assignments, individual and group presentations and examinations. There are no clinical requirements for this course.

Admissions
To be eligible for admission, you must have:
- a Diploma in Nursing from Nanyang Polytechnic or Ngee Ann Polytechnic Singapore; or
- an approved Diploma in Nursing from an approved institution; or
- a Certificate in Nursing from the Singapore School of Nursing, or its equivalent; and
- current registration with the Singapore Nursing Board.
A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band
A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 23 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing
A minimum result of 68 overall and a minimum result of 68 in each band
